Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Ben Tre – My Tho – Vinh Long ( L,D )
Pick up at your hotel in Saigon then take about two hours drive to Ben Tre. On arrival at Hung Vuong pier – the boat will cruise along the Ham Luong river (a branch of the Mekong) and stop off at various local workplaces to give you a picture of how the local economy works, including a brick-kiln, where bricks are still painstakingly made by hand; a coconut processing workshop, where you can sample fresh coconut and see how every single part of this versatile nut is turned into food and other products; and a mat weaving house, where straw mats are woven using a hand loom – you can even have a go at weaving yourself!
You will then hop onto a bicycle for a 15 km fun ride through the quiet and beauty country lane with some difference kinds of gardens such as coconuts; cassaba melon; cucumber; colocynth along the roadside to Mr Khanh’s ancient house where you can contemplate a antiques pottery collection. Then get back on your bike and cycle to visite rice field. Stop at riverside restaurant for a delicious and filling lunch, featuring such local specialties as elephant-ear fish and river shrimp, washed down with some cold drinks or beers. After lunch, it’s time to board on a rowing boat for a relaxing trip along narrow canals. Back to Hung Vuong Pier, then a last stop of your tour today is Vinh Trang Pagoda before driving to Vinh Long, check in authentic local family house then join in Vietnamese cooking dinner with local people
Day 2: Vinh Long – Cai Be – Ho Chi Minh city ( B )
After breakfast we bid farewell our house owner, get on the boat, we will gliding pass Cai Be floating market which is very bustling and colorful of farming productions on boat. Then, an optional stop can be made at local workshops where you can see how rice paste, coconut candy and pop-rice, pop-corn are being made.
Enjoy row boat riding will take us deeper into the lush and everlasting green of country site long the narrow creek and to enjoy the peaceful moment. In the mean time we can see local traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves and daily works a make a living of local farmers such as catching, agriculture cultivation, and picking fruits in the garden.
One more stop can be made too, at the tree nursery garden where you will learn how are local villagers grow high quality fruit trees. This is also the best choice for you to contact the real famous farmers – Mr Tiger & his son who are very successful in Vietnam agriculture. We will enjoy some kinds of fruits from his garden & home made rice wine while listening to the traditional music. Last visiting is the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. Return to our boat just short ride to Vinh Long town, once here we also can visit local daily market with variety and colorful food too, we are partly understand how is life culture of residents in small quiet town. After lunch we all a board to heading to Ho Chi Minh City, our Mekong Delta excursion will be concluded at the hotel foyer around 4:00 pm
